Event description

Description

Arsen Krekovic, a personal injury lawyer with Hoogbruin & Company, will be making a presentation on the recent changes to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia’s insurance policies, “From Caps to Care: Surveying the New ICBC Landscape”.

Effective April 1, 2019, British Columbians who are injured in a motor vehicle crash enter the new caps regime, where damages for pain and suffering are capped at $5,500 for “minor” injuries. Minor injuries include chronic pain, partial ligament tears, concussions and PTSD. This new approach by ICBC not only harms the ability of an injured party in a motor vehicle crash to secure fair compensation in a reasonable timeframe, it also calls into question the government’s commitment to access to justice and the Charter rights of British Columbians.

Join Arsen on September 12th when he sheds some light on this new landscape facing British Columbians.
