Event description

Description

What is a Cacao Ceremony?

Whether you're looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release bad patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space, a cacao ceremony is an opportunity to connect with yourself. Because of cacao’s ability to increase your connection with your heart, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards.

This cacao ceremony can help make you feel more radiant, peaceful, strong and in touch with your spirituality so that you can meet life’s challenges with strength and compassion, and release bad habits or things that are holding you back.

The Event

Cacao & Chatarunga will incorporate yoga, intention setting, a guided meditation and breathing exercises along with sound healing. The ceremony begins with a yoga practice of Chandra Namaskar (aka Moon Salutations), and then we will all gather in a sacred circle, honoring the cacao spirit with shamanic prayer and mantras, and humbly asking for our intentions to be heard while drinking the cacao and writing them down. We will then burn our intentions teaching us the art of physically letting go, and allowing us to trust in releasing what we have asked to bring into our lives or what we want to be released from our lives.

We then move on to a deep, relaxing meditation guided by Justin Briglio, who encourages our thoughts to travel and speak to our inner selves and begin healing conversations.

What to Do/Bring
-Please wear comfortable clothing and think about a healing intention

-A large bottle of water

-A blanket for your own comfort (yoga mats are provided)

-A pen and notebook so you can write down your thoughts and intentions during ceremony

Before the Ceremony

- Avoid eating too much beforehand. Try not to eat for at least 2 hours before the ceremony. BUT if you must a light snack is okay.

-If you are going to eat, avoid dairy and oily foods.

-Limit caffeine intake on that day (cacao contains caffeine).

-Make sure you drink plenty of water in the lead-up to, and after the ceremony. If you find you have a headache you may be dehydrated, drank too much cacao, or are detoxing with cacao’s assistance.

-Theobromine in cacao has a contraindication with anti-depressants. *Please let us know beforehand if you are taking any as we will need to adjust your serving accordingly.*

-You won't be able to attend this ceremony if you have a serious heart condition, as cacao is a vasodilator and increases the blood flow to the brain and the rest of the body by 30-40%.

-It is safe to drink cacao when pregnant though we will reduce your serving a little.

Please contact cacaoandchaturanga@gmail.com directly in case of any questions and please let us know beforehand if you suffer from any health conditions.

Namaste :)
