CAFTCADEMY 101: Costume Designer
Event Information
About this Event
A Costume Designer creates, sculpts and conceptualizes 3 dimensional characters. The big difference between a Stylist and a Costume Designer is that a Costume Designer works off of a Script. The difference between a film & television Costume Designer and a theatre or stage Costume Designer is that the camera comes extremely close and details are important. For stage you have to project past the proscenium and small details cannot be seen the same way they are in film.
This introductory course will give an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the costume designer in relation to the overall production of a project. Our instructors are both accomplished costume designers with expert insight and knowledge into the world or role of the costume designer.
This course will be offered on Zoom with the ability for participants to submit questions in real time for the instructor to expand on. An email with all the required access information will be sent slightly after 12pm EST (9am PST) on the day of the course. Please check your spam folder if you cannot find the email. The only way to access the course is at the allotted course start time on Zoom. A link, video, or refund for the course will not be provided to any participants who miss the course or who do not log on at the appropriate time.
