About this event
Daniela is a first year PhD student at RSI and a Bloorview Research Institute Trainee. She recently completed her Master of Science degree in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University and her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto. Daniela’s current research is focused on investigating determinants of participation using the provincial clinical database registry for cerebral palsy, CP-Net and creating an early intervention pilot study to promote participation in young children with disabilities. She will be discussing her Master of Science thesis today and her title for her presentation is, “Connecting risk factors, physical activity and mental health in children with cerebral palsy (CP).”
Learning objectives:
1) Understand the combined effect of pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance and physical activity level have on the effect of mental health symptoms.
2) How pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and physical activity may play a role in childhood in children with CP.
3) How parent and child reported mental health may differ in children with CP.
