ABOUT

After two successful years of sold-out conferences in Edmonton, The Institute of Child Psychology is expanding it’s offering to include the first annual Calgary Children’s Mental Health Symposium, which will be held at the University of Calgary’s MacEwan Conference & Event Centre on November 1-3, 2019. The event will bring in over 1000 people, the majority of whom are parents and educators from Calgary and surrounding communities.

We kick off the event with world renowned author and speaker Kim J. Payne, M.ED. (Publications: Simplicity Parenting, The Soul of Discipline, Being Your Best When Your Kids are at Their Worst, Beyond Winning: Smart Parenting in a Toxic Sports Environment). Kim Payne professional versatility is demonstrated his multiple roles in mental health including his work as a school counsellor, adult educator, consultant, researcher, and a private family counsellor for twenty seven years. He has penned multiple books on parenting, as well as consulted for educational associations in over 12 countries. Following the evening with Kim John Payne, we move into the two days of workshops which will include a full line up of topics pertaining to children’s mental health issues. All workshops will be led by Psychologists and Clinical Counsellors who specialize in children’s mental health and teach and practice within Alberta.
