Event description

Description

Do you have a talent for fixing things?

We need your help!

On Saturday, November 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., Brampton Library and Makerspace Brampton, in partnership with Sheridan Mission Zero, is hosting a Repair Café at Chinguacousy branch, located in the Civic Centre building across from Bramalea City Centre.

Come join our team of Fixers!

Fixers are scheduled 10:30-3:30 to allow time for setup and takedown.

What is a Fixer?

A Fixer is a volunteer who is skilled at repairing household items, everything from appliances to electronics to clothing. Everyone is needed and welcome.

What is a Repair Café?

Visitors will bring their items to the Repair Café where they will get help fixing it – from you! Most importantly, community members will learn from you – the fixers – how to do it themselves. At the Repair Café, fix anything from lamps to toasters to computers – you name it! It’s free and all are welcome!

Repair Café aims to reduce the waste that’s sent to landfill and to change society’s throw-away mindset.

To join our team of fixers, please register on this Eventbrite site or phone 905-793-4636 x74261.

Want to bring in an item for repair?
Drop-in between 11am and 2:30pm and register your item in person at the intake table. The event runs until 3pm but we will stop registering items at 2:30.
