Event description

Description

This two-day workshop allows participants to explore a variety of techniques and create small pieces of art. You will use abstact painting, gestural marks, embossing, collage, embellishing, layering, and lettering to make personalized greeting cards, name tags, place cards, gift tags, jewelry, or pieces of art suitable for framing. You will also have the option to include small quotes, Haiku or Tanaka poetry, etc., to create your art. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Any lettering can be used, whether it is a calligraphic hand or your own personal lettering.

To enhance your work, you should bring collage items such as pictures, text, practice calligraphy sheets, decorative paper scraps, transparent paper, paste paper, old dictionary/book pages, or other items you may have on hand. We ask that you try to keep your work space clutter-free by storing extra materials in your car until they are needed.

There is no food or drink allowed in the room, but a common area with tables and chairs is down the hall. A fridge and microwave are available for our use both days. The lunch break is only 30 minutes, so you will need to bring your lunch.
