In this weekend (Sept 22nd & 23rd) workshop, we will learn how cultivating awareness can help create a peaceful mind and joyful heart. The practice of meditation enables us to transform all experiences, even difficult emotions and painful thoughts, into sources of joy. Over the course of the weekend, we will explore the landscape of our experience with mindful awareness, learning how to use the body, sensory experiences, thoughts, emotions, and even awareness itself as supports for meditation.

 在此次周末研討會上(九月二十二號及二十三號), 我們將學習如何通過培養覺知來幫助創造壹個平和的心靈和快樂的心。禪修練習使我們能夠將所有經歷,甚至是困難的情緒和痛苦的思想轉化為快樂的源泉。在周末的課程中,我們將通過認識覺知來探索我們的體驗, 學習如何利用身體, 感官知覺,念頭,情緒,甚至覺知本身作為禪修的輔助

The schedule for this workshop includes video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, presentations on the key points of meditation practice by Tergar instructor Ani Miao Lin and facilitaror Franka Cordua-von Specht, as well as guided meditations and discussion. This workshop is suitable for people of all faiths, as well as both beginning and experienced meditators.

Ani Miao Lin’s profile

 Ani Miao Lin has been following Mingyur Rinpoche’s teaching since 2007. She’s led Joy of Living Workshops in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Mainland China as well as Phoenix, Arizona as a Tergar instructor during and after Rinpoche’s four and half year retreat. At the same time, she’s done oral translations for various meditation retreats and teachings of different Kagyu teachers. Ani Miao Lin has translated three books from English into Chinese: “Turning Confusion into Clarity”(Mingyur Rinpoche and Helen Tworkov, 2015), “Fearless Lion’s Roar”(Nyushul Khen Rinpoche, 2016), and “Powerful Transformation—The Alchemy of Secret Heart Essence”(Padmasambhava, Chokgyur Lingpa, Dilgo Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and others, 2018).

 

妙琳法師簡介

原籍四川成都,畢業於加拿大威弗洛利亞大學音樂系,主修聲樂。 2005年於佛光山出家,隨後在東、西方參學修持。相應禪修十幾載,恰遇明師勤參修。 2007年起至今,法師跟隨明就仁波切修學。自修之餘,過去幾年作為德噶指導員,在亞洲和北美各地帶領“開心禪”課程,兼作禪修及佛法課程的中英口譯;筆譯有《帶自己回家—藏傳佛教前行指導》 (明就仁波切著)和《無畏獅子吼》(紐修堪仁波切著)

Program / 課程

There are three main programs in our community. The Joy of Living is a path of meditation that can be followed by anyone, regardless of religious or cultural orientation. The Path of Liberation is an extension of the Joy of Living and provides a path of meditation practice for those who feel inspired to follow the Buddhist path. Our Exploring Buddhism program offers a course of study based on the core teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

The Joy of Living program contains three levels:

  • Calming the Mind
  • Opening the Heart
  • Awakening Wisdom

 

開心禪」

開心禪」為所有信仰和背景的朋友們,提供禪修的訓練課程。

 現代社會的節奏與多元,容易令人產生壓力。如何體認我們內心本具的平靜?

 詠給明就仁波切以禪修為修學基礎,規劃適合21世紀的我們,修習的「開心禪」課程,

 藉由循序漸進的學習與實修,期使「不同文化或宗教背景」的我們,都能得獲內在的平靜與喜悅。

 這套課程包括了三個階段:

  • 平靜你的心:「止」的禪修練習,覺性的禪修練習
  • 打開你的心:培養慈心和悲心,愛與慈悲的培養
  • 喚醒智慧心:看見真實本質,開啟智慧之眼 

 

Level 1: Calming the Mind

In the first level of the Joy of Living, Mingyur Rinpoche teaches how awareness meditation can be used to create a peaceful mind and joyful heart. Awareness meditation allows us to use any situation or experience, even difficult emotions and physical pain, as a gateway to inner peace.

In this level, you will learn:

  • How to rest in open awareness, a state of spacious and alert presence
  • How to use visual objects, sounds, tastes, and other sense objects as supports for awareness in meditation
  • How to transform your relationship to physical pain, difficult emotions, and destructive thought patterns using the practice of awareness meditation
  • How to deal with distractions and obstacles in meditation, such as excessive thought activity, sleepiness, and discouragement
  • How to start a daily meditation practice, including the correct meditation posture and the ideal length of a meditation session

 Completed 2 days Joy of Living workshop plus 50 hours of practice, you are qualified to join Joy of Living 2 – opening the heart.

 

開心禪一階簡介 –「平靜你的心」

 

第一階「開心禪」中,明就仁波切教導如何運用「止」的禪修來昇起平和喜悅的心。

 

以「止」的禪修,讓我們能夠運用日常生活所遇見的情況及經驗,甚至是煩惱、負面情緒、身體疼痛等,轉化為通往內在平靜之方法。

 

在這套課程中,你會學習到:

 

             無所緣禪修:如何安住在開放的覺知中(開放地覺知當下的狀態)。

             有所緣禪修:如何藉由運用視覺的對境、聲音、味道,以及其他感官的對境(色、聲、香、味、觸)等作為禪修的助緣,以專注在特定對境的覺知培養覺性。

             情緒與疼痛禪修:如何運用「止」的禪修練習,轉化身體的疼痛、煩惱和破壞性的思維模式。

             如何處理禪修時的干擾和障礙(例如過度的思考活動、睡意和沮喪)。

             如何開始每日的禪修練習,包括正確的禪修姿勢、修習的時間長度、以及如何在行住坐臥中養成禪修的習慣。

 

課後練習:50個小時座上練習。

建議每天固定練習20分鐘,完成50小時後,可以進階學習第二階開心禪課程。

 

Level 2: Opening the Heart

In the second level of the Joy of Living, Mingyur Rinpoche teaches how meditating on love, compassion, joy and equanimity can open our hearts to the world around us and decrease the self-fixation that lies at the root of suffering.

In this level, you will learn:

  • How our tendency to fixate on our own wellbeing creates anxiety and suffering
  • How positive mental states like love and compassion erode the causes of dissatisfaction
  • How these positive mental states can be cultivated through meditation
  • How ordinary experiences, and even “negative” factors like difficult emotions and physical pain, can be transformed into sources of empathy and compassion using the practice of meditation

Completion of Joy of Living 2 plus 50 hours of practice, you are qualified to join Joy of living 3.

 

開心禪二階簡介 –「打開你的心」

 第二階「開心禪」中,明就仁波切教導我們如何禪修愛、慈悲喜捨四無量心的開展。

因為當體會平靜後,我們理解「心」是充滿了無限的特質,讓我們逐漸去除「我執」

–這痛苦的根源,對所處的世界敞開心胸,以正向的心智力量面對這個世界。 

課後練習: 50個小時座上練習。

建議每天固定練習20分鐘,完成50小時後,可以進階學習第三階開心禪課程。

 

Level 3: Awakening Wisdom

In the third level of the Joy of Living, Mingyur Rinpoche offers guidance on the practice of insight meditation, a profound form of meditation that uproots the causes of anxiety and suffering.

In this level, you will learn:

  • How to use insight meditation to break through the distorted ideas that create confusion and suffering
  • How to see beyond superficial thoughts and emotions to the basic goodness that lies within
  • How our rigid beliefs about ourselves and the world around us keep us locked in a cycle of dissatisfaction and anxiety
  • How to see things as they actually are, rather than the mistaken version of reality that we project onto the world 

Completion Joy of Living 3 plus 75 hours of practice, you are qualified to join Path of Liberation program. 

開心禪三階簡介 –「喚醒智慧心」

 第三階「開心禪」的主題是「見真」,就是見到真實。詠給.明就仁波切教導我們「觀」洞察力的修持,這是一種深刻的禪修方式,幫助我們根除焦慮和痛苦的成因。課程透過多種譬喻和引導,帶領我們認識空性,空性並不是:「什麼也沒有」。仁波切說:「因為是空性,所以什麼都有可能性。」

課後練習: 75小時座上練習。

建議每天固定練習30分鐘,完成75小時後,可以進階學習「解脫道」課程。
