Cameron Crozman, cello

Named “Canada’s next big cello star” by CBC Music and the 2019-20 Classical Revelation artist of Radio-Canada, Canadian cellist Cameron Crozman (www.cameroncrozman.com) is making a name for himself both at home and internationally. Performing recitals and chamber music across Canada and the USA as well as over in Europe, engagements have taken him to such world-renowned ven-ues as the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, Berliner Philharmonie, Paris Philharmonie, Philadelphia's Mann Centre, and Canada's National Arts Centre. He has appeared as a soloist with major orches-tras across Canada including the Montreal, Winnipeg, Quebec, Hamilton, and Vancouver Island Symphonies under the direction of conductors including Gemma New, Fabien Gabel, and Edwin Outwater. As the recipient of the Canada Council Michael Measure’s prize, he was the featured so-loist with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and conductor Alain Trudel during their 2012 tour of Canada and the USA. Current season highlights include appearances with I Musici, the Ni-agara Symphony, a tour of the Canadian Prairies, and a performance at America’s National Muse-um of Music. He is extremely grateful for the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Sylva Gelber Foundation, and CBC/Radio-Canada in his projects. He is currently plays the the Spanish cello “El Tiburon” attributed to Juan Guillami of Barcelona ca. 1769 generously on loan from the Canada Council for the Arts Instrument Bank.

Carson Becke, piano

Canadian Pianist Carson Becke (www.carsonbecke.com) has performed extensively in Canada, Great Britain, Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. A versatile pianist, he is at home as a recital and concerto soloist, chamber musician, and vocal collaborator. He is al-so the artistic director of Pontiac Enchanté, a concert series in Luskville, Quebec. After moving to the United Kingdom in 2005 to study at the Purcell School, Carson completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he worked with Tatiana Sarkissova. Fol-lowing studies in London, he completed an M.Phil. degree in performance and musicology at the University of Oxford, supported generously by the Sylva Gelber Music Foundation of Canada. He recently completed his doctorate (D.Phil.) in musicology at Magdalen College, University of Ox-ford, about Richard Strauss. He is grateful for the support of the Canadian Centennial Scholarship Foundation towards his doctoral studies. Alongside his research on Strauss, he is working on a multi-album recording project featuring Strauss’s piano, chamber, and art song repertoire. The first two of these albums are available on iTunes and Spotify (an album of lieder with mezzo soprano Wallis Giunta, and a solo piano album). After living in the UK for 14 years, Carson has recently moved home to Ottawa. He is currently on staff at the University of Ottawa as an accompanist and vocal coach.
