What are FBS, FIBS, Nanofab and AMF?
There are four core facilities that make up CAMTEC.They are the Facility for Biomolecular Sample Preparation (FBS), Facility for Imaging, Photonics and Spectroscopy (FIPS), Nanofabrication Facility (Nanofab) and Advanced Microscopy Facility (AMF).
I hear you have the most powerful microscope in the universe. Is that true?
Powerful is defined in several different ways. To be precise, we currently house the highest resolution electron microscope (STEHM) in the world. We do not know how we rank in comparison to other microscopes that may or may not exist elsewhere in the universe. The highest resolution microscope on the planet can be found in the Advanced Microscopy Facility (AMF).

This looks like the best thing ever and I really want to see this amazing microscope and all the incredible things at CAMTEC because it will be so useful in my research, but I just can't attend on Nov 2nd. I am devastated. What can I do?

CAMTEC is a vibrant environment for advanced materials research and nanotechnology at the University of Victoria consisting of a multidisciplinary team of 31 core Faculty members and around 120 academic researchers (students, postdocs, technical personnel).
