About this event

NOTE: we've added a free registration option, but are also happy to accept donations and memberships.

The Canada Periodical Fund is now accepting applications for the Special Measures for Journalism (SMJ) component, designed to provide recovery funding to Canadian magazines and non-daily community newspapers following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The component provides funds for the 2021-2022 fiscal year to publishers that have a free circulation model, low levels of paid circulation, or are published digitally and who will not or cannot apply for Aid To Publishers funding this year. The deadline to apply is November 29, 2021.

In order to assist publications in BC and the rest of Canada who may be eligible to apply for the SMJ, MagsBC will offer a webinar in partnership with CPF. David Harkness, Manager, Collective Initiatives and Business Innovation, CPF, will present on this fund and answer questions.
