Chestermere's Family & Community Resource Centre in collaboration with the Canada Revenue Agency is doing a series of online presentations!

About this Event

There are seven different topics being covered over the course of 7 weeks, each presentation will be available for the public twice each week, they will be presented under the tickets section as 'option 1' and 'option 2'. The following topics will be covered:

  1. New economic measures for COVID-19 (Tuesday June 23 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday June 25 at 2:00 p.m.) – Enhanced Child Benefit (CCB), Enhanced Goods and Services Tax Credit (GSTC), Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), and Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB).
  2. Benefits and Credits For All (Tuesday July 7 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday July 9 at 2:00 p.m.) - Canada Child benefit, Child Disability Benefit, Disability Tax Credit, GST, Canada Workers Benefit. Climate Action Incentive
  3. Scams (Tuesday July 14 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday July 16 at 2:00 p.m.) - How to recognize a scam, examples of Fraudulent communications, how to protect yourself from Identity Theft.*Including new COVID-19 Scams* Did you know that Canadians lost 1.2 MILLION dollars to COVID-19 scams between March 6th to May 1st 2020?
  4. Digital Services for Individuals (Tuesday July 21 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday July 23 at 2:00 p.m.) - My Account, Online Services for individuals, Netfile and Auto-fill my return, Express NOA (Notice of Assessment)
  5. Seniors Benefits and Credits for All (Tuesday July 28 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday July 30 at 2:00 p.m.) - Common types of income and credits for seniors, Pension income splitting, Registered Retirement Savings Plan, OAS repayment, Payment methods, Authorizing a representative, Climate Action Incentive
  6. Newcomers Benefits and Credits For All (Tuesday August 11 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday August 13 at 2:00 p.m.) - Canada Child benefit, Disability Tax Credit, GST, Canada Workers Benefit, Residency Status, How to File a return
  7. Students and Youth (Tuesday August 18 at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday August 20 at 2:00 p.m.) - What are taxes, Levels of Government, Do you need to file, How do you file?
