Description

As the celebrations, conferences and conversations about Canada’s sesquicentennial year wind down, a key question still hangs in the air: what does #Canada150 tell us about our country?

University of Toronto’s Department of Political Science, Les Presses de l’Université Laval and University of Toronto Press invite you to a launch party for four new books that shed light on this national quandary, Canada’s Odyssey: A Country Based On Incomplete Conquests by Peter Russell, French and English-language versions of the two volume project Roads to Confederation: The Making of Canada, 1867/Vers la Confédération: La Construction du Canada 1867, edited by Jacqueline D. Krikorian, David R. Cameron, Marcel Martel, Andrew W. McDougall, and Robert C. Vipond , (with a Foreword by Meric S. Gertler, Rhonda L. Lenton and Mamdouh Shoukri), and Globalizing Confederation: Canada and the World in 1867 edited by Jacqueline D. Krikorian, Marcel Martel, and Adrian Shubert.

The launch will take place at 5 pm on Wednesday, December 6 at Massey College (4 Devonshire Place).

The evening will feature short remarks from the authors and light refreshments. Books will be available for purchase.

Please RSVP by reserving a FREE ticket.
