Description

During this holiday season, many Canadians will give little second-thought to how their purchases are made. And yet, a 2017 Ipsos survey found 84% of Canadians wanted to make an effort to ensure they know how and where their purchases are made.

With the Government of Canada in the midst of a parliamentary study on Canada's connection to child labour and modern slavery and research showing Canada imports $34 billion in goods that are at risk of containing child and forced labour in their supply chains, we need to be having a wider conversation around how our goods are made. (1)

Fairtrade Canada, World Vision Canada, and the Ontario Council for International Cooperation are hosting a free workshop for 40 invitees to learn about, speak into and help craft a collaborative response to this issue.

By the end of this workshop, participants will have gained a better understanding of:

  1. The opportunity for their organization to help create new supply chain transparency legislation that is focused on addressing child labour and modern slavery.

  2. The role public engagement can play in responding to this issue.

  3. How we can work together as a stronger collective for change.

Don't miss this opportunity to get on board!

Note: Lunch will be provided to all attendees.
