Description

WHAT IS THE ONLINE WILDCARD TOURNAMENT?

The Online Wildcard Tournament is an opportunity for high school and secondary school teams registered with the Canadian Improv Games to perform CIG events, receive feedback from CIG volunteers, and qualify for the National Tournament in Ottawa. Instead of performing your scenes live for our judges, you’ll submit a video of your performance online!

A panel of expert judges will evaluate all the videos, and the team with the highest scores will get to compete at the National Tournament! Also, our excellent, cross-country volunteers will provide your team with a written adjudication to help further develop the team’s skills.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Visit http://improv.ca/regions/onlinewildcard/

  1. Complete the registration form at the bottom of this page by 11:59 pm EST, December 3rd, 2017

  2. Send your registration fee ($120) to the Canadian Improv Games by December 3rd, 2017

  3. Connect with the Online Wildcard Tournament director regarding the time and date of your filming (we’ll need to know so that we can get the Theme to you live).

  4. Film your performance.

  5. Upload your video to YouTube and submit a link to wildcard@improv.ca by 11:59 pm EST, February 10, 2018.

Are you new to the Canadian Improv Games or located in a remote area that cannot access a regional tournament?

School teams new to the Canadian Improv Games format or that are unable to register for a Regional Tournament should reach out to the National Office to see what the best option is for them! We encourage everyone to take part in our programming regardless of their skills level or location and look forward to working with you to create a personalized training program!
