About this Event

In accordance with the University of Waterloo's response policy to COVID-19, this event has been cancelled. Registrants will be contacted if the event is rescheduled at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact Elanor Waslander at ewaslander@uwaterloo.ca.

Who should attend?

Prospective or interested students enrolling in Fall 2020 Environmental, Geological or Civil Engineering with an interest in water and/or climate change.

*Space is limited. Priority will be given to students who have applied to Environmental, Geological or Civil Engineering.

**Attendance at the Drinking Water Workshop will not impact admission to UWaterloo programs. Admissions is a separate process. This workshop is intended to give prospective students insight into UWaterloo teaching and access to opportunities in their 1st year.

Why attend?

Engage in an interactive day focused on one of the most pressing issues of our time, climate change and its impact on water.

  • Gain new skills while making connections to future and current students.
  • Become eligible for a coop placement competition with the forWater group at the University of Waterloo in your 1st year.
  • Earn a workshop certificate in Achieving Drinking Water Security in a Changing Climate to put on your CV.

After participating in the workshop certificate, you will:

  • Understand how climate change and extreme weather events can impact drinking water.
  • Participate in hands-on experiments to uncover the science of drinking water treatability and how to secure safe water.
  • Interact with future and present students and join a mixer event where parents/guardians can see what students learned over the course of the day.
