CANDID CAREER CONVOS
Join us for this virtual conversation series all about being Black, Indigenous or a Person of colour (BIPOC) while navigating career aspirations!
We connect with phenomenal BIPOC professionals who get candid about the ins and outs of defining success on their own terms. Over the series we'll touch on topics that include authenticity; passion at work; personal branding; community connections and networking; navigating career transition and much more... all through a unique BIPOC lens and what these identities mean in the workplace.
We're launching the Candid Career Convos series with two amazing guests: Zoe Mitchell, founder of an employee engagement consultancy, Sharp Processes and author of the upcoming book Inclusive Leadership Now ; and Lystra Sam, founder and co-founder of three businesses - Being An Ally, QmooniTi and Sister Leading Sisters - grounded in allyship, travel and leadership for Black women/femmes.
We'll be delving into insights on...
- Marrying success and authenticity in our work or calling
- Intentionally cultivating careers that are aligned with who we are
- What “on your own terms” really means
- Impactful events that have inspired career transition
- Navigating aspects of power, privilege and politics in workspaces

THE KAISO CAREERS COMMUNITY
Kaiso Careers grew out of a passion shared between two life-long friends, (Shelley-Anne Vidal and Shalyma Cambridge) to see fellow BIPOC professionals build successful careers on their own terms. Being first generation Canadian, we've learned how to navigate the business world as a Black women. We share the unique perspectives and experiences of many BIPOC professionals – sometimes joyful, sometimes sad, sometimes humorous.
