Description

Cannabis – Rolling With It In The Workplace

Legal experts discuss the importance of balancing safety, privacy and Human Rights

As a valued client and friend of Verity, you are invited to an exclusive complimentary breakfast and an interactive discussion led by Shana French and Natasha Zervoudakis, lawyers at Sherrard Kuzz LLP, one of Canada’s leading employment and labour law firms representing management.

Managing employee use (and abuse) of drugs and alcohol in the workplace is a complex and challenging issue. Adding to that complexity, the Government of Canada is set to make the recreational use of marijuana legal by July 2018. In preparation for this change, employers need to take the initiative and develop policies and procedures for recognizing and addressing impairment in the workplace.

In this Session, Shana and Natasha will share their knowledge and expertise on the following issues:

  • Balancing safety, privacy and human rights
  • Recognizing and responding to signs of impairment
  • Testing
  • Discipline
  • Policy Development and Implementation
