Description

Join the Department of Communication, Media and Film for "In Defense of Rage: Black Feminist Political Resources for 21st Century Struggle".

Celebrated as being one of America’s leading young feminists, Dr. Brittney Cooper addresses issues with a fresh, honest and humorous perspective and reminds us that anger can be a powerful source of energy. Join the Department of Communication, Media and Film as Dr. Cooper explores how Black women’s eloquent rage makes icons such as Beyoncé and Michelle Obama powerful, and keeps us all honest and accountable.

Dr. Cooper is author of Beyond Respectability: The Intellectual Thought of Race Women (University of Illinois Press, May 2017) and the forthcoming Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower (St. Martin’s, February 2018).
