Event Details

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) proudly presents Capitalizing on Canada’s Cannabis Potential.

Fresh after the release of the OCC’s latest report, Supporting Ontario's Budding Cannabis Industry, and with the opening of the first-ever private retail stores for recreational cannabis in Ontario, it’s time to talk pot.

What is the best path forward for the next phase of this multi-billion-dollar industry? How can Ontario seize this economic opportunity, eliminate the illegal market, and safeguard public health? How can the federal government tackle the supply shortage and prepare for the introduction of edibles?

The OCC has assembled a diverse panel of thought leaders and industry representatives who will discuss the key policy and regulatory issues at play, such as setting up the private retail for success, addressing supply shortages, and getting the regulations around regulations right.

Panelists include:

  • Jean Lepine, Executive Vice-President, Blackshire Capital
  • Trevor Fencott, CEO, Fire and Flower
  • Aaron Denhartog, Government Relations Manager, Aurora Cannabis
  • Jesse Todres, Legal Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General and Legalization of Cannabis Secretariat, Ministry of the Attorney General
  • Kasia Malz, Chief Financial Officer, Lift & Co.
  • Moderator: Elliott Gauthier, Senior Vice-President & National Director, Research + Analytics, Hill + Knowlton Strategies
