A team led by researchers at the University of Washington and Washington State University have discovered a chemical in tires that kills the fish before they can spawn. An assistant Professor of Aquatic Toxicology at Washington State University, Dr. McIntyre’s research specialty is the ecotoxicology of urban stormwater runoff and green infrastructure biological effectiveness for preventing toxicity to aquatic animals.
