About this Event

If you’re a parent, child care provider, working in School District 23, a social service provider, or anyone who regularly works with children aged 0-12, we'd love to hear from you!

Care For Our Kids is a child care research project for the Central Okanagan. It’s being conducted by Urban Matters CCC and led by the District of Lake Country, City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna, District of Peachland, Childhood Connections, Westbank First Nations, and Okanagan Indian Band. Through research and information collection via focus groups, interviews, and a large workshop, an Action Plan will be completed by February 2020. This Action Plan will be a guide for the Province to help improve child care in the Central Okanagan.

Community input and your lived experience are needed to drive improvements for the future of child care. For the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) to understand why and where to invest in future child care programs, they need to understand the challenges you currently experience.

This focus group is an opportunity to share information, stories, and experiences to help better understand parent, guardian and service provider needs when planning for child care in the community.
