Hear from internationally recognized Science Illustrator Shiz Aoki and Science Writer Jovana Drinjakovic as they delve into what it's like navigating a career in this rising field. Join us afterwards for a networking session and discover opportunities emerging in science communication.
Our Guest Speakers:
Shiz Aoki is the Co-founder and CEO of BioRender, a fast-growing startup that helps scientists around the world create beautiful, professional scientific figures using its web-based program. With over a decade of experience in the field, Shiz was the Lead Science Illustrator for National Geographic and Founder of award-winning science illustration studio, Anatomize.
Jovana Drinjakovic, Communications Specialist at the U of T Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research (CCBR), comes with a background in cell and developmental biology research. After completing her PhD in Cambridge and a post doc at SickKids, Jovana switched gears to journalism and currently covers scientific discoveries as a science writer. Her work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, and other publications.
