The Chemical Institute of Canada, Toronto Section (CICTor) is hosting the third virtual iteration of our Career Exploration Series on Thursday, May 13th at 6:30 pm EST. This series features talks by graduates of the chemical sciences who have transitioned to successful careers in a variety of fields.
Join us for a Career Exploration Talk on the dye manufacturing industry by Ian Mallov, Ph.D. Ian took his B.Sc. in Chemistry at Dalhousie University and M.Sc. at University of Ottawa before earning a Ph.D. in main group synthesis from University of Toronto. After finishing his Ph.D. in 2017, he began a Mitacs post-doctoral fellowship with Professor Chris Caputo at York University in collaboration with Inkbox - the temporary tattoo company in Toronto. Then he moved into a position as a Research Chemist in April 2019 to work on dye formulation and development.
This talk will provide an introduction to the role of a Research Chemist, an overview of Ian's career path, and advice on professional development for students and young professionals, followed by a Q&A session.
