CARFAC ONTARIO 2015 AGM & PANEL DISCUSSION
September 27 – 9:30am
918 Bathurst Culture, Arts, Media & Education Centre
The Board of Directors of CARFAC Ontario is please to invite their fellow members to this year’s AGM on the morning of Sunday, September 27. Please see the official notice below for details.
A FREE panel discussion on negotiation for artists is scheduled for 11:30 immediately following the AGM. Non-members are welcome to participate for a small fee. We are pleased to be able to bring this topic– which was also the theme of the 2015 CARFAC National AGM – to the attention of artists in Ontario. Panelists include trusted legal expert Adam Freedman of Torys LLP and CARFAC Ontario Board member and practicing artist Kristen Fahrig. The panel promises to be an interesting and important discussion specifically geared towards practicing artists looking to empower themselves by learning more about the art and science of negotiating. We would like to thank CARFAC National and Access Copyright Foundation for their support of the panel.
QUORUM & VOTING
Please note that quorum for the AGM = double the number of Board members present plus one. The official announcement sent to all members included a notice about amending the by-laws; please be advised that 2/3 of the ballots cast will have to be in favour of the amendment in order to pass.
Thank you for registering in advance. It will help us greatly in organizing the event!
We look forward to seeing you at breakfast the morning of Sunday, September 27!

When & Where
CARFAC Ontario is the association of professional visual and media artists. Founded in 1968, CARFAC (Canadian Artists' Representation/le Front des artistes canadiens) has worked for 40 years on the legal and economic issues facing visual artists. We believe that artists, like professionals in other fields, should be paid for their work and share equitably in profits from their art practice. The work of CARFAC Ontario is to develop policies, publications and services that assist artists, galleries, curators, art patrons, and other stakeholders in creating an economic climate that benefits all visual artists.
