Description

Caring for Our Air

Every year, Metro Vancouver provides an air quality update to Delta's mayor and council. Join us for a similar presentation to learn about air quality in Delta, including how it's measured and how it compares to other local cities. Plus you'll hear about the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority's initiatives to reduce emissions and encourage energy conservation at the Port of Vancouver.

At this presentation, you will learn:

  • how air quality is measured and monitored
  • about the state of Delta's air quality
  • about the port authority's clean air strategy

Guest speakers:

Ken Reid, Superintendent, Environmental Sampling and Monitoring
Air Quality and Climate Change, Metro Vancouver

Christine Rigby, Environmental Specialist - Air Emissions
Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

Choose from one of two presentations:

4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

More information

Metro Vancouver develops and implements plans, policies, regulations and projects that improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These plans and policies are supported by comprehensive monitoring of outdoor air quality, and tracking of emissions in the Lower Fraser Valley airshed. For more information, visit here.

Every five years, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority publishes a Port Emissions Inventory Report. The current report is here.
