Caring for the Birds and Bats – Nature Stewardship Workshop
Event Information
Description
Get information and resources on how you can help rapidly declining birds and bats. The workshop will focus on insectivorous (insect-eating) species in your community. Learn how to identify species and get tips on how to manage and protect local breeding and foraging habitat. This is an opportunity to hear from the experts and share your own stories about responsible stewardship. The evening will begin with 30 minutes of refreshments and mingling followed by presentations and a discussion.
This is a Lug-A-Mug event! Please help us reduce waste and bring a travel mug for refreshments!
Speakers will include:
Matt Saunders, Seeley’s Bay’s own “Batman” speaking about local bat species
Megan MacIntosh and Ted Cheskey from Nature Canada speaking about local species of insect-eating birds.
Put on in partnership by the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, Burnbrae Farms, and Nature Canada, and funded by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Space is limited – Register to reserve your spot!
