Hello friends and family of Caroline,

We are looking forward to seeing you at the in-person memorial eventon Saturday, June 25th at 6:30 pm, at Ottawa First Unitarian, 30 Cleary Ave, Ottawa.

Doors open at 6 pm, service will be 6:30-8 pm, with a reception to follow.

We will be live-streaming the service, so friends and family from far away can be with us virtually. The link (which will go live at 6:30 pm EST on the 25th) is here:

If you are planning to attend in-person, please RSVP by "registering" for a ticket. On-going Covid restrictions at the venue (combined with our desire to keep folks safe and healthy) mean we are limited to 75% capacity (225 people), and we are asking everyone attending to be masked and vaccinated. We are using this registration system to keep track of numbers. However, as long as you have registered, you will NOT need to show a ticket at the door (so don't worry about printing or showing your ticket). If you are watching the livestream, you do NOT need to register.

Some further things to note:

• We realize the timing of the service lands squarely inside of what for many is the usual dinner hour! While there will be light finger-food snacks, tea and coffee and non-alcoholic beverages at the reception following the service, it won't be dinner, so please plan accordingly:)

• Please bring a flower: something that makes you think of Caroline (just one flower, not a bouquet!) These will be part of the service. There will be vases at the entrance to receive your flower contribution!

• A devoted group of Caroline’s Quaker F/friends have assembled the book of her haiku and poetry, which she had been steadily working towards finishing and publishing before her untimely passing earlier this year. The book has now been edited and printed, and “Turbulent Times: Collected Poems” is now available thanks to the wonderful combined efforts of Susan McMaster, Judith Brown, Catherine Blake, Beverly Shepard, Thomas Allgoewer, Bob Barnett, Heather White and James Hrkach.
