About Metro Vancouver

Metro is a partnership of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Its core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, manages a regional parks system and provides affordable housing. The regional district is governed by a Board of Directors of elected officials from each local authority.

Metro Vancouver has had a formal Records Management Program since 1996 and has used an EDRMS system to help manage their records since 2002. Metro switched to Open Text’s Livelink product in 2009, upgrading to Content Server 10.0 in 2013. Curently, Metro uses Content Server 10.5.2. Metro has a decentralized records management program and like many organisations, relies heavily on support within our ten departments to manage the records and documents of over 1300+ employees.
