Event description

Description

The Canadian Adventure Therapy Symposium is a conference style gathering for adventure therapy programs, educators, researchers and practitioners in Canada. It is also a great fit for Therapists, Social Workers, and other professionals curious to learn more about working with their clients in the powerful mediums of Intentional, Adventure, Nature and Wilderness-based programming. C.A.T.S. was originally established to offer a Canadian based conference to begin creating a community of professionals and to increase the potential for collaboration, sharing and best practices on a more national scale.

The conference was designed to tour the major regions of Canada with the first conference being held in Victoria in March 2009. It is now entering its 8th year of Life as it heads to Montreal for C.A.T.S. 6. In each region the conference celebrates local accomplishments and focuses on delivering a conference that connects with local priorities for the advancement of adventure therapy as a meaningful approach to working with people. The Advisory Committee is now seeking to bring the essential elements of Nature and Wellness to a whole new spectrum of audiences and professional communities in the hopes of sharing our own learnings from the perspective of Adventure Therapy with the hopes of catalyzing paradigm shifting conversations in peripheral disciplines.
