About this Event

The Conservation Areas Workshop Planning Committee is proud to offer our very first virtual workshop series. This second webinar of our three-part series: Parks, Conservation Areas and Fundraising: It’s Your Job Too, will feature the perspectives of three Conservation Authority Foundations, as they reflect on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on park fundraising efforts in 2020 and beyond. This webinar will also dive into who is responsible for fundraising success, as even park staff can embrace their role as a front-line ambassador. Park staff are passionate about their jobs, have meaningful roles with significant impacts on local communities, and they can see the influence of their work every day. Park professionals are deeply connected to our visitors and serve as stewards of the public green spaces that safeguard the environment.

Topics covered will include:

  • Current Reality: The impact of COVID-19 on parks fundraising and recovery plans
  • Defining the relationship between CA Foundations / fundraising programs and parks staff
  • The role of parks staff in the fundraising life cycle
  • The role and value of Friends of groups and volunteers
  • How to be an effective ambassador or become a fundraising leader
  • Q&A interactive component with our panel of guest speakers

As we cannot be together in person this year, please join our panel of guest speakers from Credit Valley Conservation Foundation, Conservation Halton Foundation and Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation.

NOTE:

A link to join the Teams Live event will be emailed to you two weeks before the event. Don’t forget to register for the other two webinars in our three-part series.
