Description

Regenerative medicine harnesses the power of stem cells, biomaterials and molecules to repair, regenerate or replace diseased cells, tissues and organs. It holds the promise of improving treatments for and perhaps even curing devastating and costly conditions such as diabetes, stroke and blindness. Toronto has a growing regenerative medicine ecosystem, based in its academic institutions, hospitals and life sciences industry, that is accelerating discoveries from the laboratory to the clinic and strengthening Canada as a global leader in the field. CCRM and Medicine by Design have both just settled into their new home in Toronto’s MaRS Discovery District, creating a new regenerative medicine hub in the heart of the city.

As part of Toronto Health Innovation Week, CCRM and Medicine by Design will be hosting tours of their new office and CCRM's state-of-the-art lab in the MaRS Discovery District on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Five half-hour tours will be hosted starting at 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of each tour.

Please note the following requirements for the tour:
- Since part of the tour will take place in CCRM’s labs, tour participants will be required to follow all instructions given before the tour.
- Participants must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and must be age 18 or older. Participation will be refused if guests do not meet these requirements.
- Photos will not be permitted.
- Please hold questions until the end of the tour. There will be a Q&A session and both CCRM and Medicine by Design will respond to questions.

Please select your preference for participating in the tour based on the time slots below. You will be contacted via email by CCRM to confirm the time of your tour. Each tour will be limited to 10 participants, and any registrants beyond the 10-person maximum will be placed on a wait list and contacted by CCRM if space becomes available.
