About this event

The 2022 Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) conference will be held virtually.

The Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) at Lakehead University (LU) is pleased to invite you to the 41st annual Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) conference which will take place on October 28 – 30th, 2022.

Lakehead University is a leader in entrepreneurship and innovation in Northwestern and Central Ontario, and is dedicated to enhancing entrepreneurship scholarship and student experience in support of culturally appropriate and environmentally sustainable social and economic objectives. Entrepreneurship and innovation is highlighted as one of five strategic priorities in the University’s strategic plan.

Lakehead University has been in the top 100 universities by the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for its success in delivering the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University has shown a strong commitment to integrating the SDG elements in the curriculum, research, and a range of campus practices. This year's conference theme: Entrepreneurship, SMEs, and Sustainable Development echoes the shared imperative of innovation in public, private, and social sectors upon the prominent and inter-related challenges in environmental, societal, and economic domains around the globe.

This conference focuses on diverse and inclusive approaches to advancing entrepreneurship and driving economic and social recovery across sectors and countries and adopts a comparative and international perspective in addressing topics related to entrepreneurship and innovation. This year's conference theme focusses on the importance of inclusion in engaging organizations and individuals of diverse nature for their input and participation. Research papers, workshops and panel sessions showcasing community engagement, curriculum innovation, social and economic initiatives for start-up and SME support for diverse and under-represented communities under various sub-themes of sustainability are highly encouraged.
