About this event
Celebrate Kwanzaa - In-person Celebration!
Join Durham Family and Cultural Centre for our in-person Celebrate Kwanzaa event at Pickering Public Library on Thursday, December 29th at 6:30pm.
Featuring drumming with Holistic Vibrancy and Story Telling with Talkin Tales! Enjoy a meal together as community.
Kwanzaa is an African American and pan-African holiday celebrating family, community, and culture. This 7-day cultural festival takes place from December 26th to January 1st.
Together, we will celebrate the fourth day and principle of Kwanzaa: Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics). This fourth principle is a commitment to build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together. It is the practice of shared social wealth, economic self-reliance, and generosity.
We will Celebrate Kwanzaa with knowledge, food, storytelling, drumming, and performances!
