Event description

Description

The York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities cordially invites you to join us for a special Black History Month event where along with our allies and supporters, we as an African Canadian community will be “Celebrating our Success .. A foundation for the Future”

We will be highlighting the achievements and contributions of people of African ancestry to this great country generally, and York Region specifically.

Our Theme:

Uplifting our Black Families

Bridging the Past with the Present

Navigating the Present into the Future

We study the past not to continue living it, but to help define our future.

“A people without knowledge of their past history, origins, and culture is like a tree without roots”

(Marcus Garvey)

This will be many opportunities to network with many York Region public service agencies, and community organizations, and also hear our story from dynamic speakers including several “Firsts” among our community to achieve success in the Region by breaking through that glass ceiling.

We will be catering for the entire family. There will be a Black Marketplace, Drumming, and Entertainment for the young ones

Come and be inspired, learn, share, and connect.

We look forward to seeing you.
