Description

The Clearly Musical Concert Series features local musicians in up-close experiences in the Heart of Richmond Hill. You will have the opportunity to clearly see and hear the musicians and ask questions to learn more about the music and the performers! Arrive early to get a front row seat!

EVENT DETAILS: Please arrive between 2:30 and 3:00 PM. Following the concert there is a Question & Answer period for learning more about the performers and the music & a reception.

  1. Where can I park? Free parking is available at the Richmond Hill Presbyterian parking lot. Overflow parking is available at the McConaghy Centre and on neighbouring side streets.
  2. Can I get there by transit? Yes. The Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church is just north of Major Mackenzie and Yonge on the west (left) side of the street. Walk to the parking lot and enter the centre doors.
  3. Can I purchase a ticket at the door? Yes. Tickets are $30 at the door and $25 in advance. www.cellopiano.eventbrite.ca

  5. Is this space fully accessible? Yes. There are stairs to the Sanctuary and also a wheelchair accessible lift to bypass the stairs.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

JENNY CHEONG is active as the principal cellist of the Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor of Global Youth Leaders Orchestra (www.gylcanada.com), organist and conductor of Vocal Ensemble & Willowdale Children's Choir and concert coordinator of St. John's Anglican Church. Jenny is graduating this year with her Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance at the University of Toronto with Shauna Rolston. SHARA SUN is a pianist who has performed at Walter Hall, Macmillan Theatre, Young Centre for the Performing Arts, Toronto Centre for the Arts and Glenn Gould Studio. Developing a special affinity for collaboration, Shara has enjoyed playing with many ensembles such as the Toronto Youth Symphony Orchestra and the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, as well as with numerous bands, choirs, small ensembles and soloists. She has received numerous scholarships including the Samuel Dolin Memorial Award from Contemporary Showcase and the full tuition Alice and Armen Entrance Scholarship from University of Toronto, where she is currently studying with Enrico Elisi.

JOANNA GRACE started the Clearly Musical concert series in June 2016 for welcoming the community into an accessible location at an a reasonable price for exceptional concerts with local musicians. She received the "Emerging Creative Talent" award from the Town of Richmond Hill in 2016 and received Cultural grant funding from the Town to continue and expand this concert series. www.joannagrace.ca
