BIO's

We are returning to the Imperial Pub for our 4th Celtic Night, and bringing in one of the best family Maritime bands the durham area has to offer! Ugly Horse has been absolutely on fire, and over the last several years have turned heads with stellar musicianship and an authentic maritime sound. With multi-instrumental musicians, they have opened for the likes of Poor Angus, had their original music appear in the award-winning independent film "Hunting Pignut", and are soon to release their first CD! Appearing with them for this show is guest fiddler, Darel Wernik, but you will also be treated to variety of instruments that could include: Guitar, Mandolin, Irish bouzouki, Tenor Banjo, Harmonicas, Vocals, Cajon, Bodhrán and Great Highland bagpipes.

Old Man Flanagan's Ghost have played at notable venues including sets at The Hard Rock cafe, The Sound Academy, and The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, and performed at the 11th, 12th, 13th (and slated for 14th) annual Beach Celtic Festival. They have made regular appearences in the Pickering Village (JAM) Festival, and appeared in the Beaches International Jazz Festival Streetfest in July 2017. They have played at Nathan Philips Square as part of the 2016 Canada Transplant Games, and at The Harbourfront Centre as part of their Dancing on the Pier series in 2016 and 2017. They were also the featured entertainment at the 2015 and 2017 Cobourg Highland Games. Their debut album "Sociable!" released in May 2015, and hit #4 on a weekly national chart for community/college radio stations, including #1 positions on the Top 30 and folk charts at CFBX 92.5FM in Kamloops, BC and #1 on the folk charts at CFRC 101.9FM in Kingston, ON. They have been featured on 67 Music's 'The Celtic Music Journal', and appeared on several episodes of The Irish and Celtic Music Podcast. In 2016 they were aired internationally for the first time in Limerick, Ireland.

Tickets are limited to room capacity (55), so grab them early. Note: We have been at capacity the last 2 shows and had to turn people away at the door, so seriosly, grab your tickets early.

Tickets: $10 in advance (plus service fee and tax = $12.66) or $15 at the door

Doors: 8:15pm

Format: One 50min set by both groups, with a short intermission for changeover.

Both of these bands are energetic and entertaining, and endearing to those familiar with Celtic music as well as those who are not (but you will be by the end of the night). We hope you join us for our widely enjoyed Celtic night!
