We are looking forward to our four consultations that will run from January 24 - 28, 2022. Each session will be 90 minutes and run from 3:00 to 4:30.

The purpose of the consultations is to gather input from community stakeholders for our Local Labour Market Plan that will be put out in late February 2022. Participants will discuss the Key Labour Force Issues that have been identified as well as provide input on concerns they feel are important.

Topics of Discussion Include:

• Remote work and the impact on the workforce
• Workforce disconnect - local college students graduate and do not stay in our region eliminating any long term benefit of economic contribution
• Current Education programs do not align with job market demands
• Skilled labour shortage in the Manufacturing sector:  There are not enough qualified applicants for the openings posted by employers

As members of the community, this is your chance to have your voice heard and to provide input to this process. Your valuable feedback will help create solutions to address the issues.
