Event Information
Description
The Economics of Tourism
May 8, 2018 - Toronto
With the world’s largest LGBT tourism conference, IGLTA, being held in Toronto May 9-12, CGLCC is dedicating a Thought Leadership Series session specifically to tourism, and to take an in-depth look at the influence that the sector truly has on the Canadian economy.
Tourism has a significant impact in Canada, generating $90 billion in economic activity and 1.7 million related jobs. As an export industry, tourism creates and supports trade, economic development, and economic empowerment.
Tourism supports every other sector of the Canadian economy; it touches every occupation and every business in every community across the country. Tourism truly drives economic growth and job creation for Canada.
Our panel of experts will discuss the important role that tourism plays in Canada. They will examine exactly how tourism impacts the economy, how we can compete in the global market, and what we can do to further grow this vital sector.
Following the panel discussion, join CGLCC, Pink Banana Media and Rivendell Media for a joint networking reception with delegates from the IGLTA convention and travel media influencers.
This session will be of interest to any business leader interested in economic development.
