Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) in collaboration with COSTI Immigrant Services invites frontline workers to a half-day training on stigma and mental health.

Date: Tuesday November 19th, 2019

Time: 8:30am-1:00pm

Venue: 20 Grosvenor Street, Toronto, ON, M4Y 2V5. Located in the Grosvenor Room.

In this workshop, participants will receive 1) overview of mental health stigma, 2) impact of stigma in social services practice, and 3) anti-stigma strategies to reduce internalized and externalized impacts of stigma.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define stigma and identify stigmatizing behaviors and language
  • Summarize the impact of internalized and external stigma on help-seeking
  • Share anti-stigma strategies with their colleagues

Breakfast & lunch will be provided.
