Description

The 2019 Freeport Physicians’ Education Day, Challenges in Care of the Elderly, will be another exceptional educational experience, showcasing both local physicians and guest speakers.

Our morning keynote speaker will be Dr. Hemant Shah on The Management of Hepatitis C in Baby Boomers and Older Adults. The Dr. Don Geiger keynote speaker in the afternoon will be Dr. Dov Gandell on Preventive Care in the Elderly.

Other topics will include: Cognitive Enhancers: When to Start, What to Expect; and When to Stop; Medical and Interventional Management of Arrhythmias; Alcohol and Substance Abuse in the Elderly; Management of Hepatitis C in Baby Boomers and Older Adults; Managing Difficult Behaviours in Dementia; The Role of Pain Clinics in the Management of Chronic Pain; and finally, Is Geriatric Care Going to Pot? A Geri-Med Risk Perspective. Presentations will be of interest to physicians, nurses and allied health professionals. The full agenda is available on our website, www.freeportcme.ca.

A light buffet breakfast will be served starting at 8:30 am. The conference will begin at 9:00 am sharp. Refreshments and a buffet lunch are included.
