Change Management Leadership Intensive Workshop

with Ian McCarthy, PhD

August 14, 2019
One Day Workshop

Develop new capabilities to take advantage of new opportunities.

Vantage Venues
150 King Street West, 27th floor
Toronto, ON M5H 1J9

The process of leading organizational change is complex, challenging, and potentially very rewarding. The purpose of this one-day Leadership Intensive is to introduce participants to the concepts, theories and methods that can be used to deliver effective and lasting change. The Leadership Intensive will involve a significant amount of group exercise work, a Change Management simulation and an opportunity to work on plans for actual change initiatives. These are all intended to help participants learn how the theory, methods and tools presented can combine and apply to change problems they have experienced or will face.

Topics covered:

    • The complexities and issues in leading organizational change
    • How different types of change leaders create ambidextrous individuals, teams and organizations
    • How to manage "transitions" the loss associated with successful change
    • How to shape a culture for change
    • Prototyping and innovation to better cope with and manage change

ExperienceChange simulation

This Change Management Leadership Intensive includes an interactive change management simulation. An expert-guided workshop that teaches both the “what to do” and “how to be” of successful change. Backed by more than 20 years of research, industry insights and results, it combines proven change management theory with hands-on practice in an engaging, low-risk simulation experience.

Change Management Application

In groups participants identify something in their organization that they would like to change. They will develop a change plan using the frameworks covered in this program. From this plan they determine and map the what, when, how who for their change case. To share their learning and received feedback from other colleagues, participants will develop and deliver presentations that pitch the change plan to members from other groups. The audience critically evaluates the plan, and provides feedback on what is good and works, and what needs improvement.

By doing this exercise, participants will learn to:

    • Identify and diagnose change problems
    • Evaluate team and individual leadership strength
    • Create compelling visions and strategies
    • Build an implementation plan that maximizes commitment and minimizes resistance to change
