Description

Welcome the third quarter offering of our series: Change Tool Time: Bringing the ACMP Standards to Life!

This series is focused on interactive & collaborative learning where you will learn about, share, and discuss various tools, processes, and/or assessments that support a specific phase in change projects, using the ACMP Standard as our guide.

On September 12th, Jen Olson Lund, Vanessa Simpson, and Heather Lehmann will host a session exploring "Formulate the Change Management Strategy".

In the September session of Tool Time, we will explore the second section of the ACMP Standard - Formulate the Change Management Strategy. Our focus for this session will be:

  1. Identifying other inputs required to build a change management strategy. In previous Tool Time sessions, we’ve talked about a number of things that are used as input to a change management strategy (stakeholder impact assessment, sponsorship assessment, culture assessment, etc.). What else do you consider critical inputs to building a change management strategy?

  2. Discussing the process that you use to create a change management strategy. (What do you do, who do you engage, who has to buy into it?)

  3. Exploring the elements that you include in a change management strategy. (Please bring examples of tables of contents for change management strategies you’ve created/templates you’ve used to create strategies).

Once again we will discuss and debate the processes and tools that we (and you!) have used to support the change management strategy development phase of our projects. This is a place to learn with and from the group as we explore and build upon our experiences.

The second section of The Standard is broad and includes developing the overarching approach for how an organization transitions from its current state to its future state. The Change Management Strategy details the scale, scope, and complexity of the change program and defines the requirements and implementation options, challenges, constraints, opportunities, success criteria, measurements, RACI, and governance for each change management activity needed to achieve successful and sustainable change implementation.

Come prepared to interact and share with your colleagues. Please bring your processes and tools related to this step, ideas and thoughts to share with the group.

If you are not familiar with this section in the Standard, you can download it here http://www.acmpglobal.org/page/the_standard.
