Event description

Description

If you were a country, what country would you be?

Image Ocean. Spirit Desert. Secret County. Gloomy Trees.

Using maps as our medium and motif, discover a treasure trunk of character traits, historical idiosyncrasies and circumstances as you travel through the interior world of a person.

This workshop is suited for all levels of writers working with the genres of memoir, creative non-fiction, fiction, or poetry. The activities will add depth to your knowledge and understanding of a character you are already developing, or they will spark the beginnings of a new one.

MARNIE MAGUIRE, workshop facilitator

Marnie’s writing is part magic realism/part poetic grunge. She has combined her experience as a writer with her doctoral research on social change, memory & the creative process to provide truly meaningful workshops for a broad spectrum of aspiring authors.

Registration opens Aug. 1.
