Event description

Description

The Charity Jam & Silent Auction will be celebrated on Friday, May 5 during Mental Health Week (May 1-7, 2017). CMHA is encouraging the RMWB to GET LOUD and take action for positive mental health. What does it mean to GET LOUD? To GET LOUD means speaking up to stop discrimination against people struggling with mental illnesses. It means taking action and using your voice to raise awareness and build support - for yourself and for those around you.

Mental Health Week overlaps with the one year anniversary of the fires. CMHA wants to support your mental wellbeing with a night of music and community involvement, while supporting mental health. Music is often linked to mood. A certain song can make us feel happy, sad, energetic, or relaxed. Because music can have such an impact on a person's mindset and well-being, it should come as no surprise that music therapy has been studied for use in managing depression, stress and anxiety levels.

Support your mental wellbeing while helping support individuals living with mental illnessess in our region.

Doors open at 6pm
Host band: The Veins, play from 6-7:30pm
Open Jam of local musicians rock the stage from 8pm-12am
Silent auction, 50/50, raffle prizes and more!
