Event description

Description

The Charity Jam & Silent Auction will be celebrated on Friday, May 4th 2018 to kick off National Mental Health Week. CMHA is encouraging the RMWB to GET LOUD and take action for positive mental health. What does it mean to GET LOUD? To GET LOUD means speaking up to stop discrimination against people struggling with mental illnesses. It means taking action and using your voice to raise awareness and build support - for yourself and for those around you.

CMHA wants to support your mental wellbeing with a night of music and community involvement, while supporting mental health. Music is often linked to mood. A certain song can make us feel happy, sad, energetic, or relaxed. Because music can have such an impact on a person's mindset and well-being, it should come as no surprise that music therapy has been studied for use in managing depression, stress and anxiety levels. Support your mental wellbeing while helping support individuals living with mental illnessess in our region.

This year's event is presented by Alberta Teacher's Association Local 48 and supported by The Bridge 91.1, and District Recording Studio. Stac's Fine Food's will be providing an array of delicious food stations (including mini baked potato bar, and nacho stand!).

Doors open at 6pm
Silent auction, 50/50, raffle prizes and over $1,500 to giveaway in door prizes!

Please note: This is an 18+ Event. No minors.
