Halifax native Chef Mark Gray has been working in the culinary industry since age 16. Now 28, Mark is currently Executive Chef of Brooklyn Warehouse, ACE Burger Co. & the Dartmouth Beer Bar & Eatery in Nova Scotia. Brooklyn Warehouse has taken the titles of “Best Restaurant – Halifax” The Coast’s Best of Food Awards 2012, 2013, 2014, ACE Burger Co. has taken the title of “Best Burger, Halifax”, 2013, 2014 & 2015 and the newly-opened Battery Park Beer Bar & Eatery was named “Best New Bar, HRM”, 2016. Mark recently also won Gold in the prestigious Gold Medal Plates regional competition, Halifax, 2016.
Jakob Lutes is the chef and owner of Port City Royal named one of Canada’s Top 100 restaurant. Born and raised in Fredericton New Brunswick, Jakob was educated at the Culinary Institute of Canada before working on Springwillow Farm in PEI, Treadwell Farm to Table Cuisine in Niagara and Atelier in Ottawa. Inspired by his love of New Brunswick, he is drawn to its unique culinary history. Join Mark and Jakob as they collaborate with Chef Lino Oliveira at Sabor.
Lino’s passion can be traced from his time living on the coast in Northern Portugal. Lino befriended local fishermen and learned from their families how to prepare and cook seafood by tradition, culinary instinct and by heart. This incredible culinary collaboration will be paired with the invigorating, globally acclaimed wines of Benjamin Bridge and Luckett Vineyards from Canada’s exciting, up-and-coming wine producing province of Nova Scotia.
