C01 - Junior Guild - Mini Makers
Age: 4 – 12 years (group will be divided up into 3 smaller age groupings)

Our Junior Guild Program is designed for “Mini Makers” (aspiring crafters and art enthusiasts). Based on the strong guild tradition at the AGB, students will have an opportunity to create projects using the many mediums and art practices represented by our resident guilds (photography, rug hooking, painting and clay sculpture to name a few). In recognition of Canada’s sesquicentennial, projects will be inspired by important art and craft practices from across Canada. Each week students will create a different project in a different medium. Join early – space is limited.

C40 - Creative Playdates
Age: 2 – 5 years + grown-ups

Fri Sept 8 - Nov 17 (no class Oct 6)

Time: 10 - 11 am

(10 classes)

Little ones (2 – 5 years) and their grown-ups (parents, grandparents or caregivers) are invited to the Gallery for some guided activities designed to strengthen motor skills and expand their creative problem solving through playful artmaking. Experienced AGB instructors will lead weekly activities encouraging both adults and children to participate.

C08 - Home School Art Immersion
Age: 6 - 11+ years (group will be divided into 2 age groupings)

Mon Sept 11 - Dec 4 (no class Oct 9)

Time: 9:30 - 11:30am

Join artist/instructors Heather Kuzyk and Elena Espinoza during twelve exciting weeks of art exploration and skill development that will elevate your creative thinkers to the next level in Fine Art and Sculpture. Students will explore the culturally rich and diverse aesthetic that has become synonymous with Canadian art. Young artists will learn the concepts, techniques and history behind some of this nation’s most influential artists, groups of artists and art movements. Each series will include five weeks of instruction in drawing and painting, five weeks of instruction in ceramic sculpture, and two large group lessons that will combine all ages.

T01 - Teen Potters
Age: 13+yr

Time: 10am – 12 noon

For teens who want to experiment with ceramic production; create your own mugs, bowls, plates or sculptures. Enjoy using a variety of techniques (wheel work and slab construction) to produce both functional and sculptural art work. Students will learn decorating and glazing techniques to produce unique and personal pots. Class is suitable for beginners and returning students.

T05 - Artist and Curator: Parade Float
Age: 14+yrs

Sat Sept 23 - Nov 18 (no class Oct 7) and Sun Dec 3

Time: 1 - 3pm

(9 classes)

Do you know a high school student with a passion for art who would like to create a parade float? We are building a team of young artists interested in trying all kinds of different art mediums to expand their skills and experience. This project will give them the opportunity, under the guidance of skilled experienced artists, to create a large scale collaborative art project. Students will be invited to exhibit their creation by participating in the Burlington Santa Claus parade on Sunday Dec 3, 2017.

ART MATERIALS for children’s classes are included in the registration fee.

WHAT TO WEAR? Clothing may get messy from the materials used in the class.  Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. 

WHAT TO BRING? Snacks that are nut free.  We appreciate your cooperation!

ALLERGY OR SPECIAL NEEDS? Important - Remember to notify us on your registration form if the student has an allergy, health concern or a learning disability that could impact participation in the class.  We want to ensure the best possible experience.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY Refunds are cheques payable to registrants, subject to the following:

1.     The AGB reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if minimum enrollment is not met.

2.    If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified up to a week prior to class start.

3.     Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Education Coordinator: Heather@AGB.Life

4.     No refunds will be given after the 2nd week of classes.

5.    Except for courses cancelled by the gallery, all refunds will be subject to a twenty-five dollar administration charge and a pro-rated deduction for classes up to AND including the date of the refund request.

6.    Refunds will be issued within six weeks of the cancellation. 

7.   Save your receipt for tax purposes.
