Event description

Description

Do you have a child who seems out of control? Struggle with hitting, yelling, breaking things in your home, tantrums, defiance, or embarrassing public meltdowns and at a loss for what to do?

A child’s anger can be emotionally and physically draining for everyone involved. This full-day workshop will empower parents, caregivers and professionals to proactively and lovingly help children during these challenging moments. The workshop will begin with an overview of the neurobiological roots of aggression, followed by an in-depth exploration of triggers and relationship based tools and strategies which nurture emotional health and connection.

OBJECTIVES

  • Introduction to the neurobiological and developmental roots of aggression and anger

  • Exploration of triggers which fuel emotional dysregulation

  • Identifying tools and strategies for coping with anger

  • Discussion on the significance of connected relationships

  • Review resources available to parents

Refreshments will be provided at the event but participants will need to take care of their lunch (a break will be provided between 12:00-1:00pm).

Seperate receipts for "psychological services" can be provided for reimbursement under extended health benefits after attendance can be verified

A certificate of completion will be granted to participants at the end of the day
