Children of Divorce Intervention Group
Event Information
Description
The CODIP program is designed to support your child to:
-
decrease common feelings of seclusion, stigma, and being different;
-
enhance positive perceptions of themselves and their families;
-
increase coping skills and the ability to solve personal problems and to let go of problems that are beyond their control.
The positive, supportive group environment of peers allows children to share their experiences and learn from one another.
There is a parent information night one week prior to the start of the program. This night is intended to go through the program in a bit more detail and answer any questions that parents may have. Following the conclusion of the program parents will also be given a short feedback form about the skills their child developed in the program and any follow-up the therapists feel may be beneficial.
The sessions themselves are designed to be for just the children.
The full cost for this program is $480.00. A receipt will be issued that can be submitted to health benefits plans for reimbursement. Any portion of the fee that is not reimbursed can also be submitted as part of the medical expenses on annual Revenue Canada taxation filing. Registered or Provisional Registered Psychologist do not charge GST.
